BSSC - Round 2

Well, must admit, that has surprised me...I didn't get through to the next round...did you?

Now, please let me explain before you suspect I am all big headed and think I'm brillo-dillo etc. The script I submitted this year for the BSSC was far, far stronger than last year's submission...and they're not necessarily my words - but - it's all good, believe it or not! Why? Because I don't need to hand over my copyright to two shorts I really wanted to direct myself...See? There's always a reason.

So, how y'all doin' out there, anyway? And very heartfelt Congrats to those who got through into the next round - well done, me hearties! May you triumph over them all!

  2. Oh, too right - it has always been part of the gameplan...we must reconvene about these directorial thangs...or convene...which ever ;0)

  3. Commiserations, Lara. I'm very surprised too - I thought you had a great script there. I didn't make it out of the first round either. I think Pots has the right idea though!

  5. Well I got through, so did MJ over at Stories My Mother Never Told Me, Martin at A Faraway City (twice!) and Dom Carver. All my other Bang2writers however did not sadly. All of us first rounders made it into the top 600 0ut of over 2400 entries though, that's the top 24%!!! Gotta remember that - and the fact so much of it is interpretation, judges and a soupcon of luck too.

P.S. Lara - you will change your mind about the one baby thing despite the hardcore ills. Not now, but approx 3 years from now. Really.

  7. And Christine over at My Cat Likes Elivs, and Elinor. Anyone else?

Reckon we need Pots to do a Bloggers only directing masterclass for those of us who didn't make it. What you think?
